DESCRIPTION

Many students believe that good maths skills are based on naturally born intelligence, but a Motiv8 Maths course will show students that in maths - in life - practice makes progress.  All students are given a skills check as they begin a course and are encouraged to input into their areas of development.  Confidence in number handling and support with problem solving form the basis of lessons, and Motiv8 tutors design a personal programme of short daily exercises that encourage independent learning and confidence.  In class -in all Motiv8 classes - confidence to ask, to be wrong, a culture of celebrating progress and supporting each other encourages students and lessens the intimidation some students feel.  With a focus on fluency, Motiv8 Maths courses can be  extremely beneficial in supporting high achieving mathematicians in preparation for 11+ or GCSE grades 7 - 9, building student's confidence to perform under pressure.  The supportive and collaborative tie-ins that Motiv8 tutoring delivers also supports those who might consider themselves less able.
